That’s so cool that you got to check this out. I recently picked up a book on Magellan’s circumnavigation journey that I’m excited to read. Thank you for this outstanding history!
I've been to a QUITE large shipyard / open air museum, even been aboard a sub. In the US, personnel serving on submarines are considered ELITE, so I've heard. Like Greek heroes.
I my working life I've been aboard a few Royal Navy vessels too Dan, including what we call V-boats over here. From what I'm told from other sailors, when one of those returns from a long 'voyage' it's a case of standing very well back when the hatches are opened. The aroma that emanates from within being something that might destroy the nasal tissue of those unaccustomed to it!
Gonna have to study up on this later! Ciao

Thank you Jenn - enjoy your book.
I will, thank you, Harry.
That is ONE Beautiful ship. It LOOKS FAST just sitting there ! Not to mention able to defend herself. If she were a car it / she would be a FERRARI !
It is beautiful indeed - and for those who are sailors you can join the crew as it goes on its travels. Alas I don't have the sea-legs.

Dear heaven, I'd never, NEVER complain about the dodgy nature of my perpetually - clogged sinuses EVER AGAIN !!
