We looove The Prisoner TV series over here in our house, Harry! And of course, I am a ha-uuge fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey, having experienced it many times including on the extra wiiide "space" of thee iconic filmic landmark Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California! I also experienced the amazing documentary Woodstock (1970, dir. Wadleigh) there too -- WOW! Hey Harry, Did you get the email I sent you from my proton mail dot com account? Another fascinating post, Harry. The repurposing of buildings was a constant theme in my 'world of work' days. There was often an inclination to knock down old MOD stock to make way for 'something better'. One of my prouder achievements was to move the Station Museum at RAF Akrotiri into the church, thus preserving and giving new life to a building that would have been overtaken by 'progress'. Lovely messages too; encouraging. Thanks for sharing

Sometimes, granted, these silent repositories of history have to be removed, BUT I am FOUR SQUARE in favor of repurposing architecture wherever possible because buildings & houses are guardians of said history. I think that Henry David Thoreau would agree even though he was in favor of living with nature.
